What is a pink slip and when do I need one?
A pink slip is a safety inspection — it checks your vehicle’s mechanical condition. A green slip is Compulsory Third Party (CTP) insurance — it’s a financial product that covers personal injury in an accident. You need both to register your car in NSW, but they’re completely separate.
How long does an inspection take?
Around 20–30 minutes — whether mobile or at our workshop. We’re efficient and respectful of your time.
Do I need to be present for a mobile inspection?
You need to hand over and collect the keys. Beyond that, get on with your day — we’ll let you know when we’re done.
What if my car fails?
We tell you exactly what needs fixing. Minor repairs can be handled at Brumby Motors. Free re-inspection within 14 days.
What areas do you cover for mobile inspections?
We cover most of Sydney’s North Shore — Artarmon, Chatswood, Willoughby, Lane Cove, St Leonards, Crows Nest, Mosman, Lindfield, and surrounding suburbs. Not sure if we cover your area? Call us — we’re always expanding.
Is Mr Pinkslip the same as Brumby Motors?
Yes — Mr Pinkslip is the booking gateway for Brumby Motors. Same team, same workshop, two ways to be served.
How quickly can I get a booking?
Often same day. We keep slots available for last-minute bookings across our service area. Book online or call and we’ll find you the next available time.
Do you inspect motorcycles and trailers?
Yes — we have dedicated inspectors for motorcycles and trailers. See our Bikes & Trailers page for full details.
How does the certificate get submitted to Service NSW?
We submit it digitally on the spot — you don’t need to do anything. You’ll also receive a copy by email. When you go to renew your rego, it will already be on file.
